      1.Check the user's manual that came with your laptop or navigate to the support website and find the model of motherboard your laptop uses.

      2.Buy a corresponding replacement motherboard.

      3.Turn off your laptop, unplug it from the AC mains and take off the battery. Some laptops have a locking mechanism that holds the plastic battery cover in place; undo the lock and take off the cover to remove the battery.

      4.Pull out the screws along the edges of the motherboard. Lift the motherboard straight up and remove it completely from the laptop's case. Line up the ports on the sides of the new motherboard with the corresponding holes on the case. Push the motherboard down into the case and reconnect the screws.
